The Carry-On | July 2025
Elevating your month with travel insights, movement, nutrition, and a curated playlist & reading list
There’s something undeniably fiery about July and okay, maybe I’m a little biased because it’s my birthday month 😉.
July doesn’t exactly ease in quietly it arrives loud, hot, and unapologetically bold. All high sun and full-volume energy.
This month always feels like the true heartbeat of summer.
Kinda the electric midpoint of the year when everything pulses a little brighter, moves a little faster, and asks a little more from us.
So I’m pausing to ask:
What’s fueling me right now?
What’s draining me?
And how can I move through the heat with more ease?
Here’s your gentle July invitation: lean into the fire without burning out to find your rhythm between action and surrender.
Below, you’ll find travel sparks, movement magic, nutrition check-ins, and a few things I’m loving lately to carry you through July.
🌍 Travel
July has this wide-open, sun-drenched energy that makes you want to move not in a rushed way, but in that slow, meandering, “see where life takes me” kind of way.
If you’re traveling this month (or just daydreaming from your desk), lean into destinations that pull you outside: cool lakes, shaded forest paths, breezy coastal trails, or a quiet beach with space to stretch out and breathe.
Skip the rental car when you can. Walk, bike, wander. Let yourself move through a place slowly enough to actually notice the call of a bird or the feel of warm sand under bare feet.
It doesn’t have to be far or fancy. Just real, open, and a little wild around the edges.
✨ If you’re craving a tropical escape, my soon-to-drop guide on Barbados might just be your next dream trip.
🥥 Nutrition
In the summer months, the last thing I want is a heavy meal.
Some July go-tos I’m loving:
Watermelon. all the watermelon….
Simple grain bowls with quinoa, roasted veggies, and a dollop of tahini
Zucchini noodles tossed in olive oil, lemon, and hemp seeds for an easy no-oven lunch
Frozen grapes or cherries for a not-too-sweet treat that doesn’t melt faster than you can eat it
My current smoothie on repeat: chocolate protein powder, flax milk, cherries, beetroot powder, flaxseeds. So gooooddd…..
